Dogs love leftovers, right? Here’s one from National Puppy Day last week: The site “Everything Nash” ranked the best country songs about dogs. Here are their top five . . .
1. “Feed Jake“ by Pirates of the Mississippi. It came out in 1991 and ended up being their biggest hit.
2. “Ol’ Red“ by Blake Shelton. (2002) George Jones did it first in 1990, and Kenny Rogers also covered it in 1993.
3. “The More Boys I Meet“ by Carrie Underwood. (2007) Because of the line, “The more boys I meet, the more I love my dog.”
4. “Like My Dog“ by Billy Currington. (2011)
5. “My Dog and Me“ by John Hiatt. (2003)
Two more that got honorable mentions: “Cracker Jack” by Dolly Parton and “Little Boys Grow Up and Dogs Get Old” by Luke Bryan. (Everything Nash)
