Did you know Reba McEntire turned down “The Voice” 12 years ago? The show was still in development, and she didn’t think it would fit her personality. This came up in an interview with ET Online.
Quote, “I saw the Holland version of the show. They sent it to me, and I said, ‘I can’t see me doing that.’ Because, you know, I’m a gypsy at heart.” She didn’t want to be tied down to one project, in one place, for a long time.
Blake Shelton did, obviously, and it made him a TV star. She did appear on the show. She served as a mentor to Team Blake in 2011, and again in 2015.
And now that he’s gone, would she take Blake’s place if it was offered to her? Not a chance. Quote, “Who could fill Blake’s shoes? To fill Blake’s chair? Wow. That’s gonna be tough. He did a great job and kudos to him.”
(What if Reba took the gig back then? Would Blake still be with Miranda? Would Gwen even know he exists? Discuss. Or don’t.) (ET Online)
