Tributes for actor Leslie Jordan have been flooding in after his tragic death at 67 following a car crash in Hollywood yesterday. He was best known for his role as Beverley Leslie on “Will & Grace”.
He also had a TON of fans in the country music world. He did a duets gospel album last year called “Company’s Comin’“ that featured big stars, like Brandi Carlisle, Chris Stapleton, T.J. Osborne, Tanya Tucker, and Dolly Parton.
He’s from Chattanooga, and a huge fan of country. He even performed at the Grand Ole Opry last year. Here are a few tributes we’ve seen . . .
1. Dolly Parton said she was “hurt and shocked” to hear the news, and that it was like losing a family member. She added, “I know people always say ‘Oh, they will be missed.’ But in this case, that could not be more true.”
2. Jimmie Allen posted a picture with Leslie and said, “Thanks for the talks and the 6am texts. You brought a smile to so many people.”
3. Cassadee Pope said, “I’ve honestly never known such love and kindness. I’ll miss this fella and his stories more than words can express.”
4. T.J. Osborne said, “Thank you for bringing us all so much joy, Leslie. We will meet again on that beautiful shore.” (It was a nod to the song “In the Sweet By and By” that they did together on “Company’s Comin'”.)
5. Sara Evans said, “What a sad, sad day. I recently got to know Leslie and we became fast friends. He was so kind and funny and authentic.”
6. Charlie Worsham said he “carried within him a powerful and holy light.” And he thinks God put him here “to use that light to open people’s hearts and minds.”
7. Tanya Tucker wrote a long tribute and said, “Why do the ones we need the most to make us happy have to pass too soon?”
8. Randy Houser posted a picture with Leslie and wrote, “Can’t say how much this fella meant. What a beautiful light in the world he has been. R.I.P. buddy.”
9. Chase Wright said his “kindness was contagious and an example for all.”
10. And Hillary Scott from Lady A said, “Goodness gracious I’m sad. Lord be near his family and friends, and give them comfort.”
