It’s Monday…again…so let’s start it off right!
Here are 5 ways to start your morning
- Water – Splash it on your face, take a warm (or a cold shower) and then drink a glass or two. Studies have shown that drinking water first thing in the morning can increase your red blood cell counts, boost your metabolism, help ease aches and pains, and fight toxins. (Lifesourcewater).
- Fuel Up – Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, how you feed your body at the beginning of the day will set the tone for how your body craves food later in the day. If you fuel up with junk food, your body will crave the empty calories the rest of the day so eat a well balanced breakfast.
- Exercise – You don’t have to run 10 miles or attend a 5AM dance class, but light exercise like yoga and stretching can get your body and your mind in good place. It’s also a good idea to find a way to exercise your brain, reading a book or a magazine or even meditation are all good ways to exercise your mind.
- Make Your Bed – This may seem like a waste of time because you’ll be right back in your bed again tonight, however, one small accomplishment can set the tone for the whole day. Take charge and make your bed.
- Allow Yourself Time – Time is one of the most valuable things we have on this Earth, give yourself the gift of time. Wake up 15-20 minutes earlier than your usual alarm clock to allow yourself some time to really wake up. You can also use this time during your morning commute, enjoy your commute instead of feeling rushed.
