There is not much I love more than new music. To have something new that excites you; gets you moving and singing at the top of your lungs is pure bliss for me! If you follow my blog, then you know that I am constantly looking for new music, searching for the next big country singer, and the greatest songs in country music right now. Some of these artists are still unsigned, however, as you have seen with some of my up and comers to watch for; Maren Morris, Granger Smith and Chris Stapleton, that can quickly change overnight! Here are some of my latest favorites to add to your playlist today!
Cody Jinks
Cody Jinks’ song, “Loud and Heavy” is music to my ears! I have played this song endlessly on repeat and am anxiously awaiting his visit to Eugene with Whitey Morgan and the 78’s May 12th at the HiFi Concert Hall. Cody Jinks is part of the Outlaw Movement that is happening now in country music; Cody is a bearded young man with the most beautiful raspy voice. Loud and Heavy is a perfect example of how country music should sound and feel. It’s that that curl your toes, make you want to sing at the top of your lungs, raise your hands, sound! Make sure you get your tickets to this show!

Maren Morris
I first heard of Maren Morris from my favorite country music singer, Miranda Lambert. Miranda, while going through her divorce from Blake Shelton, shared photos on social media and a few of those gave recognition to this new up-in-comer. Miranda and I share a common bond when it comes to country music, so when she say’s listen to this, I follow suit! The first song of Maren Morris’ that I heard was “80’S Mercedes.” It took me back to the 1980’s where I dreamed of poufy hair, side ponytails, and awesome sunglasses while driving her 80’s Mercedes. Now when I hear, “My Church” on Best Country 103, I turn up my stereo and sing along as loud as I can. Can I get an Amen?

Tommy Ash
Tommy Ash is a country singer from Arizona, a new-up-in-comer that I found from one of my favorite sites, “We Hate Pop Country.” I immediately fell in love with her classic country look, profound lyrics, and honky tonk sound. Tommy has opened for the likes Dwight Yokum, John Michael Montgomery, Tracy Lawrence, Chris Young and recently for Merle Haggard. With that kind of influence and guidance, she should be rocketing straight for stardom before we know it!

Sugar and the Hi Lows
Over the summer I went to the Britt Festival where Sugar and the Hi Lows opened for Kacey Musgraves. The band was good and a lot of fun, but when they played “High Roller” they were on fire! They taught the whole audience the dance to this song and I couldn’t wait to learn at home!

Whitey Morgan and the 78’s
If you love a man with a beard and some good ole’ outlaw country, look no further than Whitey Morgan and the 78’s! As I mentioned earlier, this band is going to be visiting Eugene with Cody Jinks! It’s a guaranteed good show as Whitey Morgan will deliver a country song as only a good honky tonk band can! “Waiting Around to Die,” really hits a cord with me lately. I am getting older am finding that the common saying I heard growing up, “you get old and everyone starts dying” is ringing loud and clear. It makes me want to live my life to the fullest as life is short. It’s probably my favorite track from them, although the arrangement of good songs is not a problem with Whitey Morgan and the 78’s! They are a band to get to know now as I predict they will be one of country music’s top performers soon!

Earl Dibbles Jr. / Granger Smith
One of Best Country 103’s newest country singers on the line up is Granger Smith with his song “Backroad Song”. What you may not realize is Granger Smith is also Earl Dibbles Jr.! It’s like the good angel and bad angel as Earl Dibbles Jr. is the bad angel of the two! Earl Dibbles Jr. has a Facebook page where he is known for making memes with redneck sayings that resound with his fans and are shared multiple times. “Country Boy Song” is my son, Jason’s, favorite song and thankfully he is the one that introduced it to me! Earl’s music is far from wholehearted like the Granger Smith songs, it’s raunchy and it’s real country boy talk!

Sarah Ross
I can’t tell you how much I love “Shotgun”! This song has tons of sass and lyrics that tell the story of the men that do women wrong. Sarah Ross reminds me so much of Miranda in this song. Even though the song is country girl rap, it’s the girl power theme that shines through. She is another one of those unsigned artists that you should hear on the radio shortly as her name has been thrown around in a lot of country music sites. Her song, “Loving this Beat” has that pop sound that many are loving today! It is my guess that “Loving this Beat” is going to be the track that you hear as her debut single!

I could keep on going on about the new artists to look out for, but these should keep you entertained for a while. I have thrown some of the true country and some of the new pop country for your listening pleasures! There are more on my playlist of course, but I’ll share those with you later. If you have any that you have found, please leave in the comments. I would love to take a listen. Plus you never know, you might find your new favorite artist in the next Country Dreaming!
